Are You a Callus or a Blister? šŸ”„šŸ’Ŗ

Warrior,

Are you going through a tough time right now?

Feeling physical pain… mental pain… maybe a tough project, a challenge, or a
competition coming up?

I’ve got a simple question that just might change your life:
Are you a Callus… or a Blister?

I’m coaching high school track again. And guess what? Every season, without fail, some athletes get blisters.

Ever had one?

A blister is fluid-filled skin. It hurts. It shows up when you’ve done something new or
pushed too hard, too fast. It’s the body’s way of saying, ā€œYou’re not ready… yet.ā€

But that pain? It isn’t a stop sign—it’s a comma. A pause.
Your moment to regroup and GROW.

Not the end of the road—just a bend in the road.

That blister is your Passion Test.

Because if you keep going—if you lean into the discomfort—you don’t just heal…

You build a thicker skin.
You build a callus.

And I’ve learned something powerful:
A Callus is just a Blister that Never Gave Up.

I get it.
You might say, ā€œBut Martin… it hurts!ā€

Trust me—I’ve been there.
I wanted to be a writer. And back then?

I was just a big blister.

In school. In writing. It all hurt.
But I didn’t stop.

I showed up.
I kept typing.
I built my writing callus one painful keystroke at a time.

Now, after years of work, I’ve written my first action thriller: Bloodfeud.

And just like those track athletes or the fighters I train, I’ve earned the scars and stories to write it.

🚨 It launches in ONE MONTH.

 I’ve learned blisters aren’t failures—they’re just feedback.

Blisters happen in every area of life:

When your feet hurt from the run

When your feelings hurt from rejection

When your faith hurts from ruin

But every time, the answer is the same:

Get your reps in. A little, a lot (that’s my definition of consistency).

That’s how calluses form.
That’s how diamonds are made.
That’s how champions are built.

So let me challenge you:

āœ“ļø Where are you blistering right now?
āœ“ļø Where do you need a callus?
āœ“ļø What daily discomfort do you need to lean into?

Wish you were tougher? Then earn your callus.

WHY?

Because a Callus is Just a Blister That Never Gave Up!

And I promise you this — someday you’ll be proud of the calluses you worked hard to earn.

You show me your calluses, and I’ll tell you what you do:

šŸ‘ Hands of a lifter or artist
āœļø Fingers of a writer or guitarist
šŸ‘£ Feet of a runner or dancer

Your calluses tell the story.
They become your armor.
Repeated friction can make calluses—and champions.

So then Martin, how do I do it?

Just 4 letters: OADB
āž”ļø On A Daily Basis

A little each day is better than a lot every once in a while.
Calluses are built over time—earned, not given.

Don’t quit now. The pain is proof you’re on the path.

Whatever your blisters are right now, I challenge you:
Apply the stress correctly. Keep going.

Let that blister become your badge of honor.
Let it harden into the callus that tells the world:

ā€œI NEVER GAVE UP!ā€

Be the Callus,

Martin Rooney

P.S. I’m proud of the calluses I’ve earned—and Bloodfeud might be the biggest one of all.
